Moritz - My Fabric Thief

I´m used to it having fabric scraps everywhere laying at the house because of Moritz. He steals them from my trashcan and plays with them for hours until they are chewed out. I throw a scrap and Moritz runs for it and brings it back to me so I can throw it again.

.... it were scraps....... but this little devil stole the strips of my cutting table

And yesterday he tried to take off with a FQ he got out of my locker............it was so funny how he pulled it all the way to door the of my sewing room

My Notebook Is Here

At the beginning of January I have ordered myself a new Notebook and it supposed to be delivered within 48 h. Delivery day was set for January 9th but UPS didnt show up. Well maybe the tour was too big and it will be delivered on Tuesday. UPS showed up but the guy just had the delivery not but NOT my notebook!!! I asked if the notebook was already delivered ?!? From my side came a *sensored* NO....... two more days I got in touch with UPS, they told me to call dell - they have to report my notebook as lost. After waiting and making calls and waiting again......I finally got my notebook....... four weeks later as planned thats what you get when you want your stuff within 48 h.

and here it is.......

I´m all happy and its sooooo fast compared to my old one

Some More Stars

Saturday evening I didnt feel like sewing at all. After a rough day - nothing better than a hot tub and some gooood coffee and you will feel like you be able to take down trees..... ok maybe a bonsai......... ok maybe a blade of gras. It was enough energy to drag myself into my sewing room to applique some more stars

nontheless I still had some energy left to tease Moritz (scrap-lover) with some scraps of fabric

Quilting-Bee February

Last Friday we had our little quilting bee again at Mariannes. This time we had a newbe with us sewing - Kathi she is a colleague from Marianne and Angela. Kathi was all into sewing a cell-charging-pocket with the help of Marianne and after she was done she made herself a little mugrug.

this will be a clock made of fabric - Marianne finished it last weekend - hopp over to her blog and check out the wonderful clock

this is another project Marianne is working on - I cant remember what its called but those pieces are all stitched together by hand and I tell ya it looks incredible in real

here is Kathi with her finished cell-charging-pocket - can you see how proud she is?!?!

oh yeah - and I did actually some sewing too - I cut and appliqued 9 stars on the blocks - they belong to my patriotic quilt

I think Kathi got infected with sewing - here she goes with a mugrug

............ Kathi even started talking about making a quilt....... yep...... she cought the quilting-virus - lol.

It was a wonderful evening and a big THANK YOU to Marianne for having this little quilting-bee at her place.

Four Forgotten Stars

I totally forgot about those stars I have sewn in December. They are for a great memeber of the QF , she had a big down in her privat life and hopefully they will cheer her a little bit up. And if all is being settled again she even might find some time for some sewing

Patriotic And Dinosaurs

Those are the quilts I´m working on at the moment - Patriotic-quilt (ufo) and a dinosaurs-quilt

so far I´ve put the top together and still working on a border

This will be a dinosaur quilt - the blue and red fabrics are dinosaur themed

and in the middle I´d like to applique a big dinosaur (from Quilts & More Winter 2009). I think the brown will be ok for the "beast". I also wanna add some smaller dinosaurs on the green outer border.

the fabric has colored freckles on it and thats the only brown I have plenty in my stash - what do you think???

Just Cats

Bizkit was ignoring the new cat tree for quite a while but since the last 1.5 weeks I saw him more and more using it - yay!

I dont know why I was worried about that I havent thought about a XXL-sleeping platform - he squeezed his deluxe-body into the small box - good thing it has two holes :D

and it looks like he enjoys it

Working On My Old Anker Again

Its been quite a while since I worked on my aged beauty.............. well I´ve got some good energy boost and got the parts of my old Anker Sewing machine out.

the whole iron frame was rusty and the paint were mostly off

I checked the internet - how it suppose to look like and started coloring it (this part was done 1.5 years ago)

I also started painting and colouring this part - I´m not sure about the pedal what it suppose to look like. I still need to find a pic in the www.

Here is the sewing machine itself..... black paint is still good but needs to be cleaned (I can tell ya that is not too easy to find something that´ll work the right way) - the gold/silver decor is partly gone - I cant and wont replace that.

Oh and in the 1.5 years of not touching it - my "buddies" had great time to doing their mission.........

.... destroying the board - sigh - it wasnt this bad when I saved the machine from being thrown away - oh well alot of extra work for me

X-Mas-Tree-Skirt Is Done

After Christmas is before Christmas right??? The tree skirt is done - woohooo my second finish for this year! I feel kinda sorry for this skirt because it has to hide another 10 month until it will be used!

FNSI January - Results

All day I was looking forward to disappear into my sewing room and I managed it to do it quite early.

My plans were to sew on the binding on my X-mas tree skirt

and to put the rows from birthday-block-swap from 2009 together (my current ufo I´m working on)

I was hoping to get quite some work done this evening

binding got sewed on via machine on the front

I need to sew on the binding in the circle also - but first I need to hand stitch down the edge binding on the backside - this will happen the next few days

I also started to sew some more red-white-red strips together

to finish the rows of my patriotic quilt. The blocks are from a swap from 2009

For myself - I think I made a good progress on my projects.

Loop/Scarf

I was shopping for fleece some weeks ago to make those loops/scarfs I´ve seen in some forums. This weekend I finally made some

A Jinxed Evening

It was one of those days were I should´ve stayed in bed. After a crazy day I was so looking forward to spent some time in my sewing room. I wanted to start quilting my x-mas tree skirt - in a good mood I went upstairs towards my sewing room

I practise a bit free motion quilting - tried to follow the stencil - ummph - I need to practise more - but

it looked alright on the backside

the thread ripped and got stucked and machine made a funny noise- yikes - oh please - no bigger damage again!!!

So I went to the basement to get some of my other "toys"

I´ve loosen some screws and took the plastic cover away

it took me quite some while until I had this offender out - oh how I love those days!!!

After I put the machine back together (oh lucky me - I didnt had any leftover parts) - I did some test-sewing - yay me... machine worked.

Meanwhile it was 10 pm when I finally started quilting but I have finished it.

Top For Christmas Tree Skirt Is Done

Normally I have a skirt for my Christmas tree but it was made out of a stiffer tissue paper material (cellulose?). It was blue to fit with my tree and I had it for a couple of years until now.......... Rocco and Moritz shreddered it. I only had big, small and itsy-bitsy tiny pieces of it left after the season. So I need a new tree-skirt and I better start making it now so the chances would be better to have it done by next X-mas season.

Its made after a tut I found in the www.

Woohooo, I´m so looking forward to layer and start quilting it.

First Finish In 2012

I´ve been working on this quilt since 2008. I got the blocks out of a swap from QLR my preferences were rainbow-colors. I started quilting the center part and then I put it aside to work on lot of other quilts. I think it was November when I started quilting again, sewing in threads and put on the binding..... well didn´t managed it to get it done in 2011 but this week I made the last stitch on sewing down the binding - well got start for 2012 with finishing an UFO

Its also made in memory of Merry Bee a member of QLR - she passed away the year we swapped the blocks. I´ve never met her in person but we had some nice email contact were we chat about her time in Germany.

Scarf Is Done

I December I´ve started this scarf out of a kit - it was fun to knit but for my taste the scarf is to short.

Cat Tree

I bought a new cat tree for my three fur balls. The old one only had one had one sleeping place and most of the time all three wanna take a nap but sleeping place were already occupied. So I bought a bigger and nicer one

after I have put it together I moved the old tree and violá here is the new one

After I opened the door first Moritz came in..... well he almost got scared to death at least his fur was pointing in every direction - lol.

Rocco was quite sceptic too

after the fur flatten again Moritz also checked the tree out

it looks like they are all not sure about this "thing"

and I made a big mistake since Bizkit a lit bit bigger..... cat flap is one for small/medium dogs........

never thought about a xxl sleeping place for the cat tree

I´ve the feeling I bought the tree for myself....... will see if this is going to change the next few weeks.

I know its been a while since my last post but the days before Christmas were just crazy and so the holidays. I cant remember when it was the last time that I was pretty happy to go back to my office do my work and dont have to deal with the holiday crazyness around here. X-Mas Tree Is Up

It has been already last week when I put up the Chrismas tree.........I always love to use my grandmas crochet white ornaments.

Its been 18 years ago in September..... my Nana was at the hospital when I asked her for the pattern to those ornaments. A couple of weeks later, when she was back home from the hospital Nana started crocheting ornaments like crazy. I asked her for whom she is making the ornament and she answered that she dont really remember - someone has asked her while she was in the hospital about the pattern but since she dont have a pattern for them she thought she would just make them. Close to tears I told her that it was me who asked for the pattern. That was the last gift I´ve got from my Nana....... she passed away in March the following year.

Saturday Micha, Andrea and I went to the Christkindlesmarkt in Nürnberg. Its always fun to stroll through Nürnberg and do some shopping and at this time of year we strolled through the Christkindlesmarket.

Wallhanging & Deco-Swap

Last Friday Marianne and I had a little quilting bee again. I think its much more fun when friends sit together for some sewing and chatting - sadly Angela couldnt make it this time.

Well, I would say we had a great evening - Marianne was working on her winter quilt......

......the quilt is amazing - Marianne handquilted it and here she is working on her binding

and I have finished my Halloween-wallhanging...... finally!

Knitting

Lampion Found Its Place In My House

I made this lampion with my friend Nicole while I was visiting her in June. Couple weeks ago I even found a plain lamp socket (never thought it would be so hard to find one) and this weekend I´ve finished it and hung it up.

Rocco is part of our family since mid January this year and 10 month later Bizkit finally shared his chair with him - Rocco all comfy and Bizkit still sceptical about it. Can you believe that they havent laid this close before?!?!

Bizkit is not very social to other cats when it comes to his sleeping habits and places. Normally its enough when he gets slightly touched by the other cats hair to enrage him.

Digged Out An Ufo

This quilt was laying around for two years - blame me!!!! I started quilting it in 2009 and after a while I put it aside until today. Its one of my projects I would love to finish this year......

I´ve started stippling the center parts - I´m still learning and partly it could look a bit better but I can live with it.

I hope I can keep my motivation to finish the quilt before New-Years-Eve.

Ok - this time I got very late into my sewing room and before I´ve started sewing I had to do some serious online-shopping :D

I got the star top done

and trimmed the wallhanging, to sew on the hangers and the binding. Now I will have some couch time with the wallhanging while sewing on the binding at the backside by hand.

I Love Squishy Mail

After a whole week hunting down my mail man - he finally delivered the squishy envelope I was expecting - hooray!

I was participating the X-Mas tree swap at QLR and yesterday I have received the envelope with the swapped blocks - have a look

for each block was a extra strip of fabric added

Aint those blocks super pretty??? Thanks to Tracy for organizing this swap and to all the participants for making such great blocks. All I need is some extra time to turn the blocks into ...... well at least a top in the near future.

Some Little Things

Lately I dont spent as much time as I want to in my sewing room. Last weekend I havent even made on stitch - can you believe this?!? ..... well me neither. At the moment I´m working on some little things like decoration for winter/Christmas

the tree (still needs some working on) belongs to me and the Wichtels are for a swap

aaaannnnd after three years I have finally finished these socks. I call them chemo-socks because I started them while my Mom had her Chemo-treatments and spended the time with her waiting until she was done with her infusion. Like most of the time I make the socks out of wool scraps.

How Nice Fall Can Be

Sunday Sewing

Sunday evening I have finished quilting my Halloween wallhanging (after Halloween is before Halloween - right?!). All I need to do is sewing in some threads and add the binding.

of course as soon as I put the wallhanging on the floor, Moritz has to check it out

Fun Sewing Night

We havent had a fun sewing night since quite a while but last friday was they day where we had our little get together for some sewing, chatting and laughing.

in between we were sipping some red wine

ok here is the proof that we were actually working with fabrics too and not only with red wine :D

I havent hung up my lampion yet because I needed to fix the whole wire ring and not only pointwise like I did

lighten up!

I posted the pic of the lampion at the QF and one of my quiltfriends has mentioned that the wooden beads are missing ;-) .... so here they are.

After a while of sewing we made a break to make some Lumumba (hot chocolate milk with some amaretto)

We were sewing until 2 am, well thats at least the time when I packed my stuff to go home ;-)

Sewing Break And Ironing- & Cutting Marathon

At the moment I´m taking a break from sewing...... well sewing room needs to be cleaned up (especially fabrics need to be ironed) because I will get a new satellite dish the next few weeks and new cables need to be laid accross the whole house and all beginns in my sewing room. Have I mentioned that I still had to iron the few fabrics I bought while I was on vacation in TX?!?

Well that´s what I did the last few evenings - ironing........ all togehter 97 3/4 yards (I love sales in the US - but not so the ironing part). Did I really carry home all these fabrics?!?!

I also went through one of my scrap drawers and start cutting bigger scraps into 2.5" squares (this pile shows 167 pieces). I´m collecting for a scrappy quilt I would love to make the next years. I already have a jar full of squares but I have no clue how many pieces.

FNSI October - Results

I went to my sewing room around 9.15 pm - yay me pretty early for a friday!

Always needed on a FNSI - huge cup of coffee :D

and thats the project I´ll plan to work on tonight - ghost and bats are already appliqued - so lets put it together to a sandwich

I pieced my batting (well yeah - I save my batting scraps and piece them)

cut and sewed the backing together

and put the sandwich together - I have to think about how I wanna quilt this. I´m still beginner when it comes to free motion quilting - so what to do with it?!?!

I put the wallhanging aside and grabbed my winter fabric and tree pattern (I wanted to make those trees for years...... sigh like so many things)

I cut fabric to make 4 of these trees.............

...... but this will be continued some other evening in the near furture ;-)

Wadding

I made two more pumpkins and by now all my batting scraps are used up. It was pretty amazing how much of those batting scraps are going to fit in one pumpkin. I still wanna make some fabric Xmas trees where you need some more scraps or wadding........ well I guess I have to order some. While stuffing the pumpkins I relized that there is a big difference from all the scraps I had left. So I ordered siliconized wadding - its softer and keeps what ever you will stuff in a better shape.

I´ve ordered 4.4 pounds (2 kg) of that wadding and it arrived in this box

I opened the bag with the wadding to see if I got the right one and puuuffffff - the little bag out of the box turned into enormous huge bag of wadding

so I guess they have sucked the air out and I have to find a new storage place for my wadding - lol!

After I have finished the last toddler quilt - I pretty much got lazy when it comes to sewing. Well a few little things I have finished or still working on

every year I wanted to make some pumpkins and every year fall has passed and I still havent made myself some pumpkins..... well after fall is before fall right??

Quilt Luisa Is Done

Yay - next quilt I can cross out my WADs-list 2011. I´ve finished the quilt yesterday and it will be handed over tonight.

It took me quite a while until I had a good idea for this quilt. Everything I thought about was ok but didnt got to excited but with this result I´m very pleased.

X-Mas-Tree Swap

It was good that I bought alot of red fabrics at my last vacation in the US. Like I have known that I will join a swap at QLR and known that I will use alot of red. Last Thurdays I have finished my blocks - packed them and mailed them off on friday.

To each block belongs a extra strip 2.5" x 8.5" those will be used for stripped blocks which goes between the x-mas trees. Side note: This will be a pretty big quilt.

Chicken Coop Part 1

Ok - here is a little peek to show you what kept me busy the last few weeks. I kinda renovate the chicken coop. We dont have any chicken anymore and so I have decided to use the building as a garden shed. Nothing has been fixed the last hmmmm I would say two decades..... well at least 15 years and I´ve learned a lesson so far - with one building site you start with - you will find at least ten more things what need to be fixed - you just dont know it yet.

A HUGE THANK YOU to my uncle Eckart - his help is priceless.

I got more soil to fill up this little yard and gras got sowed yesterday. I still need to buy and install a eaves gutter to the roof and maybe within the next two years the roof tiles on the side you can see will be replaced (those are the reeeeeaaally old ones). So far is the outside done - know I will continue working on the inside.

I Still Spend Time In My Sewing Room

I just dont find the time to post alot. Fulltime job, working on the chicken coop, taking care of Candy and when its getting late and dark I´ll sneak up into my sewing room

those squares I prepared for my friends wedding

I want the guest to sign them, add a poem, something funny or blessings. A member of QLR gave me the tip to iron on those squares on freezer paper this makes them more stiff and its easier to write on them. Thanks alot for the great tip TMM

30 blocks are done and seam allowance is marked as well - just a help that there is no writing beyond the line

here I continued working on my swap-project - patterns are drawn on fusible

I´m done quilting this toddler quilt and now.......

X-Mas Tree Swap

This is the new swap I´m participating and its organized by Tracy from QLR. Its a group of wonderful and funny ladies and its such a big pleasure to be a member of this group. We are swapping 16 X-Mas tree blocks and its a pretty easy one

6 blocks are sewn together - 10 more to go - if.......

I wouldnt have busted my sewing machine >:( The end of the thread got tangled in the bobbin location and I had to cut it out. Since ever then my machine doesnt sound right while I´m sewing + I have huge loops on the backside. I will put my machine in service today and hopefully it wont take weeks again (grumble-grumble). But I´m lucky also - because my Mom told me that I can borrow hers until I get mine back.

Toddler Quilt - Now The Top Is Done

In the previous post I wrote that I wanted the quilt a bit longer...... The same evening I´ve sewn the squares together and added them to the quilt in the opposite direction...... aaaahhhhhhhhh sometimes it would be really helpful to use your brain BEFORE you do something.........since there are only three different colors and pink was my middle one at the first row - so it was in the second row even if I sewed it on in the opposite direction (grumble-grumble). And of course I´ve already done both of them - grrrr my spare sewing time was wasted for nothing.......... after that I went to bed - still mad about myself.

Ok - new day, new luck, new sewing time - and guess what - I´ve used my brain before I started sewing - lol .........

I really like this top. The added extra rows dont look to bad and I´m pretty happy with the length by now.

Toddler Quilt - Top Is Almost Done

Sunday and Monday evening I was able to spend a decent time in my sewing room. I kept on working on the toddler quilt and I´m pretty happy how it turned out so far

I played with the block layout - I always do that and at the end I´ll end up with a total different because while sewing them together all of a sudden I dont like it anymore.

after some more sewing I got this far.....I really like how it turned out. The quilte is wide enough but I love to have it a bit longer.......do I add another rows of squares????

or just put a border around it - which means it will get wider also. Hmm I kinda like the green around it but I dont wont to have it wider...... I´ll guess I´ll just add another row of squares.

Cats And Critters

Bizkit and Rocco are fighting alot......

..... while Moritz is catching butterflies and bringing them to me into the house....

....... better butterflies then anything else. Last week I found some feathers in the hallway..... ok I havent seen one of the cats coming inside the house with a new "toy" - neither I´ve seen them carrying anything outside. Never know where they leave their toys.... so I started crawling through my appartement to check.... lucky me no left overs found....... well until later on when I was going to bed....... YUUUUCK!!!!..... Sidenote: If you dont find your cats feathered toy at the floor..... you may check your bed! (I love doing laundry this late at night - grrrrr)

Digging In My Stash

I was going through my un-ironed pile of fabrics and Bizkit thought that it looked comfy enough to take a nap on this pile

Grabbing Ball

Couple of days ago I have finished the grabbing ball which goes with Quilt Hanna. Its the first one I made and I think its kinda cute if a toy fits to the blanket.

Baby Hannas Quilt Is Done

It took me a bit longer as I have thought to finish the quilt after I have received the babys name. Last Friday was that Friday were I wouldnt get out of my sewing room until I was done with the Babys Hannas Quilt...... and here it is......

Two month ago Nicole told me something about KAMsnaps .........nope I think I dont need something like this!!!! Nicoles Mom brought some home and sometimes you have to "look" with you fingers ...... well this "I dont need those" turned into a "hmmmmm they are not that bad" - lol. While I stayed with Nicole, she showed me her KAMsnaps and what she used them for - and again "they are not that bad". I ´ve started paying attention to KAMsnaps..... I´ve to tell you... they are used everywhere...... my pants, Nicoles Mom said that they were even used in her little greenhouse, my raincoat for the stable....aso........ well I´m weak

Seaworld & Spain Market

The last weekend of my vacation Nicole drove our butts to San Antonio. I think its amazing how she plans and packs.......she has to think and plan for her three kids also. Compare to me..... I only have to worry about myself. Saturday we visited Seaworld and at the evening we were going to meet my relatives Linda & Henry. I was really excited about that because I havent seen them since years and it was the first time I was meeting them in the USA.

We met Linda and Henry at ou Motel - they were staying at the same as we did. Actually Henry suggested it to us - it was nothing fancy but nice and clean that´s what counts. We were heading to the Spain Market in first place to get something to eat and since we had to wait over one hour for a table we were also be able to sneak through some of the stores. It got pretty late....... and Chiara fell asleep at the table..... and poor Nicole (I think she was also pretty tired) had to carry her all the way back to the motel - I felt so bad about that - SORRY Nicole!!!

Sorens Birthday

The little man turned 4 - already!!!

The day before Sorens birthday I helped Nicole a bit to prep his party - baking, cooking decorating (pirates)

In the morning Soren opened the presents he got from Mama + Papa, Sisis, Oma + Opa and from me.........WOW, OH WOW he said with every present he opened .... too cute!

When Sorens pirates arrived - they went straight to the pool ... or container boxes and the little waterslide....I think they had their blast

and of course pirates need to eat and the pirate-capitan needs to unwrap some more treasures

before he shares some of it with his crew

Back To Texas..... Quilt Store

After Hamilton Park Nicole drove to Dripping Springs - she has heard from a quiltstore there and of course we had to check it out after we were already nearby. The ladies there were real nice and helpful - a place I would love to come back more often (especially after I saw the batic-section)

Squeezed In

I did a little bit of sewing since I´m back home - sewing on the binding by hand at my scrappy flannel cats quilt. When I´ve started this quilt 3 years ago my little Tigger was still alive. He was a real quilting cat and loved flannel - this was one reason why I have started this one. The flannel I have used are all scraps (and still have alot left) besides the red for sashing and binding. I wasnt really thinking when I have started to cut 1.5" squares and sew them together (grumble-grumble)...... well and it was suppose to be a small quilt. I´m sure Tigger would´ve loved it - Bizkit enjoys it alot and so does Moritz and Rocco.

Some More Sewing In Texas

Nicole joins a quilt group from her church and they meet up - I think it was twice a month. They are sewing quilts for charity and Nicole asked if she could bring me too and well I was allowed to join this group of wonderful ladies. At this meeting they were making diagonal stripped blocks - fabrics and laces were picked out of Mrs. Lucy´s goodie boxes. We were allowed to add laces or to embroid the blocks.

Some Sewing In Texas

Nicole is such a great friend, she took quite some of her spare time to resize the pics of my camera and mail them to me! Girl you rock!!!

Before I went on vacation I have asked Nicole if she likes those lampions and if she is interessted in to sew one. I have received the pattern from Baloo a member of the Quiltfriends - big THANK YOU.

we started with the zigzag border - it took quite some time to make those

Nicoles is one the left and mine is on the right - nope we dont really have an idea why we have different sizes. The pattern was in cm and we only had inch-rulers and mat - propably the mix-up happened at the conversion

My Backyard

Open House/Garden

Last weekend I went to an open house/garden. Its is pretty interessting that it is possible to have an exotic garden in our climate too. Of course you have to invest some time and work to get your own oasis.

During wintertime the planted-in palm- and banana-trees will be covered up and those exotic plants in a pot will be carried into a greenhouse. So for sure next year I will get me 5 ft. palmtree and hopefully I will have a green thumb with it.

My Goodies

It was a long trip home....... flight delay 3 h, train delay 15 min. because of that I missed my connection train so I had to wait another hour for the next one.......... by the time I got home I was more than upset. I had to cheer myself up and started unpacking to see all my goodies in one pile. I had a big grin on my face.....

batting, fabric, ribbons, ruler, vinyl, stamps, charms....... and almost everything was off the regular price. 30, 40, 50 % off....... no way I could´ve resist

This was also a must have, I love the motive - well lunch box and cup were regular price but the lil picture I got from the dollar store.

.....and those goodies are fitting to some of my fabrics I have purchased a couple years ago.

I totally have forgotten about this pictures I took over a week ago. No really exciting pictures but maybe worth a little update post about project "Texas".

these are the leftovers from sewing in the threads - for me in person - I dont like those automatic sewn up and cutted threadends... and sewin in threads its like a test snuggling under the quilt

the basting thread still has to go.......

..... but all this were over a week ago...... basting thread is gone, binding got sewed on infront via machine and the back will be sewn down by hand...... and hopefully will be finished sometime soon.

And yes I´m still sewing - right now I´m bussy with sewing-in threads on project "Texas", this will be followed by sewing on the binding. All together quilting has slown down quite a bit because of the beautiful weather and the tons of work outside - I wonder where it always come from?!?. And its hard for me to be in the house, when its still daylight outside until 9.15 pm - just loving it!

There is the Icehockey-WM going on right now in Slovakia and WOW our german Team can acutally keep up with the Top-Teams there. I´m so PROUD of your boys! We have beaten Russia (first time since 1954 and 37 WM-games), Slovakia and Slovenia (3 wins in the preliminaries round since 1930!!!). We kept a tie after 60 minutes and extra time against Denmark and Finland but sadly lost in Penalty. The coach and the team did and still doing a great job!!! Tonight is the next game - the next really strong and successful team - Czechoslovakia - this will be another hard game for our team - *trust - faith - hope* Go Germany Go - its possible to beat the Czechs.

too nerve-racking was this game - Rocco couldn´t stay seated anymore - lol!

Rambling May,1st

May, 1st is a holyday here in Germany and normally lots of people start packing their backpacks with snacks and goodies and start off to a rambling. So did we (3 girls + a dog) this year....... left at 10.30 this morning with my small Panasonic Lumix in my backpack and a partly cloudy sky

My Little Bit Of Sewing During Easter

Like I wrote in the post before - I managed to do a itsy bit of sewing during the holidays.

I have sewn and ironed the binding for project "Texas" (9.3 yrd)

and I have finished the scrappy part for the quilted basket swap. I think I will use green for the main body.... hopefully my swap partner will like it too.

Hopefully I will find some time this week to do some sewing - because of this extraordinarily beautiful weather - I spent most of the evenings working outside or watering our garden. Have I mentioned, that we need some rain really bad..... I can water the garden but the farmers are already having trouble with their sowing.

Easter Holidays Went By Too Fast

I hope you all had a Happy Easter - I defently had and no time to watch DVD or to post anything. The good and fun times always passing by so fast! The weather was awesome (but we need rain really bad), spent a decent time with my horse, playing with the cats, start taking some pictures again and well yeah I managed it to do a itsy bit of sewing too.

Well I planned way more to do - but I got way to tired to stay awake past midnight. So I just kept on quilting project "Texas" - still not done yet - but I hope I will finish it today

its not alot and just simple quilting - but it takes up some time too.
